Hunters Lodge. Feels like I cheated. (N00bie warning)

I must share this experience. N00b as I am.

Last night, travelling through Ooniverse in G1, minding my own business, running passengers from A to B when suddenly..
Stumbled on a station named 'Hunters Lodge'. Well, low on fuel so I docked. First time ever docked to one, didnt know what to expect..

Cool, a challenge ? Dogfight ? With me ? Bet ? Well, consumed sixpack of ale. I'll take any challenge and whatnot.. :)
Maximum bet was 100.000Cr. and the odds for my triumph were quite low. (16:1 or so) Still took It and placed the bet.

Dogfight was not even hard, ship moved like no other ship I've encountered, but still. No sweat.

So, after months of finding free time to play Oolite and earn Credits to buy that Wolf Mk II. Suddenly, after one dogfight, I have 1.4 MILLION credits ???

Damn, feels like cheating to me !?

What to do next ? Passenger transports and assasinating poor chumps just lost intrest.. Maybe I'll sell my beloved Cobra, buy that Wolf and go after that Constrictor finally.

I just love Oolite and almost all of the Oxp's. Thanks for reading, and sorry for the bad english.

Hi Sectoid,

First.. Find the highest tech level industrial planet you can, then Iorn ass that cobb.
Load 'Radomhits275' oxp'er
Not all bounty hunts are that easy! Even iron assed.
Then what ever other oxp you think you'd like to play in G1.
There are quite a few.

Not all oxp's play in G1.

Then Have fun.

where is this Hunters Lodge?????

and don't worry about cheating -- once you've got a reasonable looking equipment list and some extra fuel tanks Fuel Tank v2.1.oxp it doesn't take long to earn ¢1,000,000 from cargo contracts, and you don't need a big ship. Just keep running whatever comes up on the f8/f8 menu until you get a good reputation for delivering on time - then some of the more exotic ships are affordable
But I prefer the basic ones like BoaClassCruiser (and am trying out the GriffBoa just now)

Randomly all over galaxy 1 (and probably 2 as well), if you have The Feudal States.oxp installed.

Thanks for reply. I have 'Random Hits' ofcourse and many other Oxp's.
To Explore Ooniverse means much to me. Its just one thing, but according to vessels, Im a Wolf-a-maniac, since Elite II.

I just want to have a fully equipped vessel before moving to other Galaxies. And I did see my new love in G1, Ceesxe. Wolf-II special with outstanding paint work.. Creator must regognise him/her-self.

Cant wait what G2 will bring me. Also waiting for the surprises which the 'Assasins' 'will create in G7.

OmgLite. :)

Not that randomly - they're the 11 highest-tech feudal systems in Galaxy 1.

Challenger odds are based on player's score and ship stats. Unfortunately I'm having to cope with players potentially having scores ranging from zero to several thousand, so it's hard to get a system that works well. Maybe I should use the player's cash level as a better guide to their skill level or just go with the ship stats alone. A simple thing I can do though is to set an upper limit on the odds so there's less cheat potential. I think I've got all the materials now to extend the OXP into galaxy 3, so I'll take the opportunity to revisit the calculations.

Thank You. I feel very free being a monkey ;)

...which would give you a range from zero to several million. Not a real improvement...

Just do that Constrictor Hunt. really. 8)

And after that head for the next TL15 world / shipyard (or with all that money TL14 might do as well).

Why not add some to G2 as well?

Thanks for that reply. Got 2 questions.

1) Your Vessel.
2) Why ?
3) Missile slots ? (4)
4) Energybanks?

Tl15 sounds interesting. Cheers ! :)
