I had a look at this site, and it's pretty good! The scanner thing is both nicely done and annoying to use, and the rest of the site seems quite useful.

I did Russian language at school but have no idea what most of this says. I noticed that my old Capisastra OXP was on the site so I translated the page for it and got this:
Capisastra OXP
Do not place it. This is the only packet, which is made completely not in the spirit of game. There was first [nevdomek], that for the aggressively disposed ships made in KB Pablo Picasso. In the second approximation it became clear evident that these are antagonists from the game “Of galaxians” it seems 1979 of release, which good by all were familiar even on [Spektrumu].
Is it me or are the ship designs being compared to Picasso? Bizarre! They did mix up Galaxians with Space Invaders though... :-)

Cool though - Selezen is a Russian word so it's good to be going home...

I notice that attempts to get Benulobiweed's MERLIN (a new interceptor for police & military use) from here directs one to www.box.net/f4083657 where nothing is available..

Never mind, I keep trying

Of similarly low relevance -- Googling this site [ROOLITE] leads to lots of pages about RooLite, a device for dazzling
kangaroos with light(e) so that you can shoot them, in certain galactic quadrants..

here's a direct link http://roolite.org/

It means Drake. In the sense of "male duck" rather than "dragon".

It's a long story...

No and No. Those aren't long stories...

:-)

<deep breath>

Look, if you really want to know, I used to play a roleplaying game called Dark Age (www.darkage.co.uk/rpg) and my character was called Simon Drake. At about the same time as the game playing I installed Windows XP and it asked me for a company name, so I decided Drakenet was a good name for a company and used that, then when I wanted to start doing web and graphic design as a paid hobby I sort of appropriated the name into a web address (www.drakenet.co.uk) and then when I started using forums I needed a name and someone had already used Drake, so I translated it into Russian and It happened to be Selezen which sounded quite interesting (cos it had a Z in it).

<gasp>

Now. Back on topic. :-)

More interesting story than some I've heard. But any reason in particular reason for choosing Russian?

Hehe my name also has a similar "long story" background.

Many years ago I was playing a rogue-like game called A*D*O*M*
ADOM is similar to DnD where you have hack n slash fighters and spellcasters and what-not...
Anyway, while deep in the Caverns of Chaos (or was it the Infinite Dungeons, I forget) I came across a powerful creature that one shot my considerably powerful necromancer, this creatures name was "Chaos Knight"
So my second character, a warrior type, also goes deep into the Caverns of Chaos (BTW, i'm on a second character because once you die in ADOM, there's no comming back, death is permanent) where I come across a Dwarven town, seeking a quest there I find a character called "Ancient Dwarf" but instead of talking to him I accidentally press the attack key, and he one shots me.
So, I think to my self, these Ancient Dwarves and Chaos Knights are really overpowered, I wonder what would happen if there was ever an Ancient Dwarven Chaos Knight...

ROOLITE made me think of Kangaroos. So I thought it was some Australian variation of Oolite.

Thanks for the explanations already posted above.

Side note: Now I've got Pavel Checkov's wussian accent wunning awownd in my wessel.
