"Well Done Commander"...

I was just wondering as I get more and more kills to my name, did I miss the "Well Done Commander" messages when I climb one rank?
They were in the original version of Elite.

You mean "Right On, Commander" don't you?
They are in there, its just sometimes you get other messages appearing so fast that they get overwritten.
On the Classic Elites you used to get one every time you went up a level until you got to Competent, and thereafter every 256 kills.

Right On Commander is awarded every 256 kills. It is possible that the message may appear, but scroll quickly out of view if there is a lot of action going on at that moment. Something like "Incoming Missile"-"ECM Pulse Detected"-"Fuel Scoops Damaged"-"Right On Commander"-"Bounty:20Cr"-"Energy Low"-"ID Computer Locked on Thargoid Warship"-....
