New from Isis Interstellar, a civillian trader to rival the Cobra MkIII :
Image

slightly outperforms the Cobra on all fronts except pitch/roll/yaw, standard 40t capacity and 5 missile slots.
Image

comes in 4 different colours, and a "Renegade" variant that sacrifices 10t of cargo space in favour of powerplants to slightly increase energy and recharge rate.
Image

due to customer demand, both ships have four laser mountings for all-round defence.
also quite popular as a pirate vessel

Effing cops cutting me up!

two alternate "wood" dashes available, here's the mahogany one:

Wow, congrats! Looks like you really put this thing together very thouroughly, what with even the different HUDs.

Nice model, reminds me of a Delorean.

Looks good. Don't forget to update the Wiki!

Downloaded. Like the ship, but hate the HUD. It needs to be smaller, as it blocks the action too much, or maybe a bit more see-through (whats the term?). The HUD also blocks the on-screen messages.

How do you select the wood HUD? Or can it be turned off?

Wow man. Very cool ship. I also like the all in one package id (ship + Huds)

Just had a thought. If I removed the HUD's plist file, would it use the default HUD? (Well not deleted it but renamed .plist to .plistoff or similar..)

Simply change (or delete) the entry in shipdata.plist to get rid of any unwanted HUD. And deleting the orphaned HUD(whatever it is named).plist doesn't hurt too.

OK I did that, and renamed the HUD .plist file and it did use the default HUD.

However there is still a grey area at the bottom of the screen behind the default HUD. See the following screenshot:

Sure that this is not connected with the ship model? I had that problem with the Neolite-ships, too.

It's the 'nose' of the ship. The are different ways to get rid of these visual glitches - remodelling (probably the best), altering the view_position and weapon_position for this view or using shaders to flip the orientation of these faces (hehe) when this view is active.

Ah, thats ok then, don't mind seeing that! :)

Really loving your work Killer Wolf. Obvious a lot of thought has gone into this ship design and I really like the result. :)

cheers bud :-)

thanks for the comments all. I knew the HUDs (inc the Dominatrix HUD) wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but i'm just playing about to try and get some different looks. as Svengali stated, if you like the ship but not the HUD, just remove the HUD reference in the SHIPDATA file and it'll default to the normal.
that grey nose bit irks me a little too. the alternative was positioning the view more forward, but while it might not affect gameplay as regards vision/perspective etc, it seems a little bit of a "cheat" to me

The main thing I don't like about the HUD is the "aiming box", covers up the ships you are aiming at. Especially annoying when trying to pick off ships at long distances. The rest of the HUD is fine.

If the box could be replaced by a more standard cross hairs then it would be good.
