Oolite Bulletins

After compleating Nova I am in G5 now. I have read a few helpful topics of how to obtain the Cloaking Device on this forum, but I am worried I may of missed it. I have made about 5-6 jumps so far.

My question is will I know when this scripted event happens or is it just like any normal fight? With the Constrictor Mission you fought just after you came out of witchspace, is this the same for this event, or can it happen anytime en route to a station?

I just checked my save game file and found this line which was NOT in an earlier save:

<key>mission_cloakcounter</key>
<string>5</string>

Does this mean I have missed it or yet to activate it?

Many thanks for the answer - I got classed as an offender when i docked not sure how I managed that.

Could be an accidental shot against a clean ship while police was around...or launching while there were forbidden goods in your cargo hold.

It's also possible to ram a ship while docking and then you get a nasty flag for that (fugitive in case of police/system ships).

This is the most likely cause as two of the three pirates you met during that encounter were clean pirates.
