Is possible to add another Galaxy to Oolite, maybe access could
be gained by a special mission in Galaxy 8,Sol/Earth could
be put in to the new Galaxy along with tau ceti, alpha centauri,
ross 154 and others.

The idea behind Oolite is to be a faithful, but modern, re-creation of Elite, incorporating additional features into the game that improve the playing experience but are consistent with the original game. That includes 8 galaxies, none of which feature Earth.
If you read up on the background to Oolite/Elite/Frontier (a search round the forums will dig up the details), there are explanations as to why Earth isn't in Oolite/Elite backstory.
There is an idea floating around for generating further Galaxies/Galactic Sectors, but this is very much in the ether.

Try the Oolite extended project that Lestradae is running. I think they are talking about a 9th galaxy.
Galaxy 9 faithful to elite

Galaxy 9 or 0 if you prefer would still keep it faithful, the idea
would be to extend the time frame to include historical events
hinted at in elite,This could include player starting at sol or
Lave.If payer starts at sol he could see/read about the birth of
Galcop and those worlds that broke away from the federation.
Player could be given choices as to fly off to the newly formed
worlds and become a fugitive from the Federation once he
uses Galactic hyperdrive to go to Lave. After this the Galaxy 0
would or could be shut off, this would represent the idea that
Galcop removed federation star data from their charts to avoid
is citizens from falling in to fed or imp hands,Galaxy 0/9 could
be opened again once Galcop ask the feds and imps for help
in defeating the thargoids, player could be given the mission to fly
back to deliver a diplomat or messages to earth, player could join
Inra. The player could also take part in the independence wars.
This oxp would only try to reflect historical events in the elite
universe.player could start at year Circa 2500,in no way would
this oxp try to become frontier or ffe .anyway this could be the
start below, although the bulletin board on earth would be named
Oogle
2500
Declining political relations prompt the Far Colonies (or Old Worlds, as the inhabitants of the area have christened their sector of space) to declare independence from the Galactic Empire. Ties with the Galactic Federation and the Duval Empire are officially severed. Far Colonies ships and personnel are declared persona non-grata and open hostilities greet any trespassers. Far Colony navigation systems are set not to show any worlds of either Federation of Empire on star charts, and all relevant locations are locked out of hyperdrive guidance systems.

I would seriously consider posting a request to the devs to expose a mechanism for changing the galaxy seed to OXP scripting (and a method for returning to the standard 'Elite' galaxies).
It's a pretty easy task.

That sounds familiar...

Aye, definitely sounds like ooprince should follow OSE's development for this kind of content. Outside of someone developing an OXP along the lines he sets out, I can't see any of this being implemented into the Oolite core anytime soon.

Personally, I haven't yet visited all 2048 planets in the 8 charts yet, so I'm not in any major hurry to visit newer places!

I visited Galaxy 9 once. It was pretty much the same as Galaxy 8 though, so I got bored pretty quickly and left

I heard the only difference between galaxy 8 and galaxy 9 was that galaxy 9 came with a free t-shirt.

It’s actually subsidised by the cost of all those galactic jump drives.
