Thought this might be of interest it's aonther forum. Much like us in many ways but at the same time RADICALLY DIFFERENT! You may remember games that Relic produced like Homeworld.

Set in space it has a very island ship feel to it much more isolated that bootling about between worlds. The perspective is more isometric that oolite. but like oolite it's been back hacked and is now near infinately moddable.

Why am I telling you this? Well it means that they design ships and set up missions and the like and their work (I've descovered) is well worth a browse. Maybe even a borrow. :D

Of course in other ways they're lagging a little.

Still always good to meet new people.

Oh, in game eye candy. I wonder if we could get our camera to do this?

Even more generally I was looking into the sketchup, then I saw the price tag so I stopped. Still a converter would be nice.

I had several total conversions for the original Homeworld - you needed a clean install of the game and then you ran the mod pack(s) - I had three versions installed in 3 different directories - the original game - the Battlestar Galactica mod TC and the Star Wars TC - ah, them were the days...

I loved homeworld - that bit - the first time you play - and you jump back to your home planet and it's been decimated and that music plays over the scene - it was a genuinely emotional moment...
