Oolite Russian support

Post by seventh »

Welcome to my personal Oolite-site, friends.

I was going to show it to you when it will be more filled, but
someone got to know about it already :D

www.roolite.org

Cause Cyrillic is clear to nobody here -

Резюме -> short review of the game
История -> moments of history
Бортовой журнал -> the logbook

Обсуждение -> Forum (is not ready yet).

The main content of this site seems like notes in my starship's logbook.
I will be very grateful for any feedbacks.

It looks very nice, as said elsewhere it's impressive to see such detail.

If I can believe Google translation, you mention combat drones in there as equipment. Those are one of my OXPs, not part of the core game itself.

Also there is a Russian translation of one of my OXPs (Planetfall), although it is of an older version than the current English language one. It's something I was pondering on working on (copying the text from the old version into the new one), but it may be better done by someone who actually speaks/writes Russian (I don't, the work was done before by Radcapricorn).

Thank you, I know that this is OXP.
I've changed the text a bit to avoid misunderstanding.

Unfortunately, I didn't see your OXP yet, so I'll install and test it and if Radcapricorn does not object I'll be able to translate it.

The current version of Planetfall is here (version 1.23). That is for 1.73.4, but will probably need modification for 1.74 when it comes out (they usually do).

Radcapricorn's translation (of version 1.12) is here.

It may just be a case of copying the text from one to the other, but as I don't speak or read any Russian I'm probably not the best person to do it ;) Or it really may end up sounding like it's spoken in Thargoid ;)

Excellent, Seventh, the website is great.

I see you have a nice e-mail address for yourself.
Just how do you say "Right On Commander" in Cyrillic?

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Thanks :)
The scanner idea came to me at the last moment. There was a static scanner before.
Well, I think there is no reason to duplicate the site into English because it's just a russian appendix :) to oolite wiki and an Aegidian's site and all information is given briefly on it.
But I'll be glad to take part in designing of existing sites, if there is a need to do it.

Seventh, do you hear from Red Capricorn? He was translating Status Quo into Russian, but has dropped off my radar!

Cheers,

Drew.

Ah-ha - "The Hunt for Red Capricorn" - it almost has a familiar ring to it...

Scottish brogue. The linguistic equivalent of a strapping Scottish caber hurler sauntering up to you and giving you a peck on the cheek.

So kind of soft, but at the same time scary with a subtle hint of possible violence. South African has the same effect.

Out of interest seven is the spinning image of the cobra That looks like flash, is it an imbedded file?

Still very OT: Yes, I'm dimly aware of the rich tapestry of speech patterns adorning this sceptred isle, but you'd think he'd gone to elocution lessons at some point! :P
