Newbies will be happy to know that you don't need to know how to code in order to contribute to Oolite. Recently someone (I sadly forgot who) posted a new sound for laser hits. It consists of just a sound file (ogg format) that gives a more scratchy sound to laser fire that hits something vs misses. You simply put it in your Add-ons folder and that's it. It is surprisingly useful and helps my aim at further away targets quite a bit. So thank you for it and for providing an example on how anyone con contribute something neat to the game.
