Re: Superhub V1.2. slight update

Post by Switeck »

The smaller texture is not only buggy, it also suffers from not using most of its area. In short, at that same scale it could be 1/2 to 1/4 as large and still retain the same details.

Unless it's a 'Chinastyle' communist system.
While indeed that's possible and sensible in theory, I prefer to keep extra stations to a minimum both for frame rate issues (on very low-end systems) and game balance. Too many stations makes it easy to make >1000 credits just shuttling cargo between them.

I've updated the release for the Superhub. It now includes the smaller texture that Commander McLane posted a while ago. Credits go to him for making a correct smaller texture that is recommended when using computers with smaller texture memories and such.

Superhubv1.4

Model, Idea and Texture: P.A. Groove
Shading: Griff
Smaller Texture: Commander McLane
OXP structure and Scripting and docking area Thargoid

Changes from 1.2 to 1.4:
* Added the correct working smaller texture by Commander McLane into the package.
The smaller texture is recommended for playing on computers with light graphical capabilities (laptops and such).

You too, eh Smivs? I'm currently walking 16 to 24km/day and have lost 30lbs since Dec. 15 of 2011. :D
Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

Well done. I usually do a bike ride up a steep 8 mile hill five days a week and badminton every week. You feel so much better for it. Keep it up.

From the "it just bugs me" pile...
It seems inappropriate to show the docking rectangle slit animation for such a large and round station.

How would I alter the Superhub station (or any station) so the docking animation uses the same one that Rock Hermits use?

<chortles> Second time in five minutes - pay attention at the back.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

I couldn't get that to look right...maybe caused by the size of the Superhub's docking port and/or because I often enter it off-center and at an angle.

Strange. But does it work or do you only get a warning?
