OXP mentioned in the Galaxy Guide

Hi!
I'm working on a project in the Elite Wiki: A new
Galaxy Guide. Some might have heard of this already, but I want to hear from you!
This Galaxy Guide is designed to be a framework for fiction and OXP writers both as a reference and to ccordinate their ideas on the Ooniverse.
Each page for a system has a section "OXPs". In this section I am collecting which OXPs have an influence on this particular system. As examples have a look at
Tianve or
Tionisla.
Likewise, there is a section "Fiction", which is the same, but for fiction. See
Lave for example.
So if you have an OXP that redefines a system in the Galaxy Sector 1 (and later in the others, too), please let me know.
And if your OXP is already listed, but labeled with "(No Wiki page given)", please consider creating a proper and worthy wiki page for your OXP. If you don't have access to the Wiki, ask winston, and if all else fails, just ask, and I might help you with setting up a page.
Yours, Christian Treczoks

You can add Leesdi to that list. When AsteroidStorm.oxp is installed, that system will always have an increased asteroid activity, independent if the mission has started or ended.
planet description wrote:"The planet Leesti is reasonably fabled for Zero-G cricket and Leestiian evil juice, but cursed by deadly asteroid storms."

As mentioned elsewhere Lave Academy adds the academy stations to various systems around G1 and sometimes across all 8 galaxies (depending on how it is configured).
Also Aquatics changes the system of Ribiara in G3 into Aqualina, and messes around with its stats too.

Cataclysm.oxp gives some life to an
obscure Wiki reference to a naval research and development complex on
Ribilebi in Galaxy 1.
Cataclysm also adds a secret Navy research station in
Enrece (Galaxy 3) and an even more secret one in an asteroid field in
Tetier (Galaxy 6). In case of Tetier also the planet's techlevel is changed to 1.

Not very secret if you've just 'outed' them here!

Also don't forget the Galactic Navy. Would be nice to see where the sector commands are
Sorry for the increased workload

Thanks for the information. Looks like I've got something to do over the next days...
My Todo list (in no particular order):
* Asteroid Storm Done
* Lave Academy OXP Done
* Cataclysm OXP Could not find any references to specific systems. Any OXP specialist who could tell me if I'm missing something?
* Galactic Navy OXP
Looks like Galactic Navy is a bigger fish to analyse...
UPDATE: I just started to analyze the Galactic Navy OXP and extracted the locations of the sector commands. I vaguely remember something about this OXP changing the TL or Government of the system where a navy sector command station is located. Problem is that JavaScript is not my "home language" and I can't find anything that would support that memory fragment. Could anyone who has this OXP installed enlighten me?

As I said before. No planet descriptions are changed, it just adds some stuff. Perhaps I misunderstood which OXP related information you are after.
Anyway, the main thing that Cataclysm builds a little (not much) on the half-sentence about Ribilebi from the Thargon-wiki page I linked to in my first post. I don't even know where the naval research and development complex first originated from. Is it canon? Is it some piece of fiction? Perhaps you could try to find out. I just found it convenient to build upon.

Nice work!
Mutabilis and Status Quo do have their own wiki pages. I will create one for the Tianve.OXP at somepoint!
Cheers,
Drew.

OK, I did something interesting with the Galactic Navy. As those 14 systems per Sector are supposed to be a kind of "local headquarters", one might want to know which HQ a system belongs to or vice versa. So I hacked up a quick Dijkstra analyzer for the Ooniverse and produced the following output (Excerpt only, my local format, not wikified):
--- 8< ---
-Tibedied OXP Galactic Navy
The next Sector Command Station to Tibedied is Navy Sector Command 2 in Orrere, 10.4LY, 2 hops away.
Shortest Witchspace path: Tibedied -(4.0LY)- Azaqu -(6.4LY)- Orrere
-Qube OXP Galactic Navy
The next Sector Command Station to Qube is Navy Sector Command 10 in Oresle, 15.6LY, 3 hops away.
Shortest Witchspace path: Qube -(5.2LY)- Ququor -(4.4LY)- Retila -(6.0LY)- Oresle
-Leleer OXP Galactic Navy
The next Sector Command Station to Leleer is Navy Sector Command 5 in Encereso, 10.4LY, 2 hops away.
Shortest Witchspace path: Leleer -(5.2LY)- Onusorle -(5.2LY)- Encereso
-Biarge OXP Galactic Navy
The next Sector Command Station to Biarge is Navy Sector Command 5 in Encereso, 3.6LY, in the direct neighborhood.
Shortest Witchspace path: Biarge -(3.6LY)- Encereso
(...)
-Ceinzala OXP Galactic Navy
The Ceinzala system is home to the Navy Sector Command Station 1 of Galaxy Sector 1.
The following systems are connected to Navy Sector 1: Orgetibe, Raoror, Cemave, Arusqudi, Cevege, Isti, Veisti, Sotera, Esteonbi, Teorge, Arxeza, Onisqu, Rebia, and Ara.
-Orrere OXP Galactic Navy
The Orrere system is home to the Navy Sector Command Station 2 of Galaxy Sector 1.
The following systems are connected to Navy Sector 2: Tibedied, Lave, Azaqu, Quator, Reorte, Riedquat, Leesti, Edinso, Ra, Diso, Uszaa, Anlama, Relaes, Begeabi, Oresqu, Ditiza, and Zasoer.
--- 8< ---
Additionally, I could produce a map that shows which systems belong to which HQ.
What do you think I shall do:
a) just add an entry to the 14 Navy HQ systems
b) add an entry to all systems with the next HQ
c) Like b) but with the shortest witchspace path
And: Is "The following systems are connected to Navy Sector X" ok? Or shall I go for something like "The following systems fall under the responsibility/protection/jurisdiction/whatever of Navy Sector Command X"?

Thats exactly the question - does it add something to a specific system, like installing a station there? I could not find anything, but - as I said - JavaScript & OXP writing is not home turf, so I could easily miss something.
Commander McLane wrote:Perhaps I misunderstood which OXP related information you are after.
Well, what I'm searching for is information like "This OXP makes system X a TL 15 rich industrial" or "That OXP installs a whatever-station in system Y". Basically, whatever one might want to read in a piece of information about a certain system.

I might try to fing more info on that, but I consider it low priority at the moment. If I find something, you'll find it in the Galaxy Guide

Could you notify me at that "soempoint"?

I plotted the responsibility areas (or whatever they should be) of the Navy Command Stations in Galaxy Sector 1. As I pointed out before, I assumed that a system "belongs" to the Command Station to which it has the shortest Witchspace route in LY.
A quite interesting picture I'd like to share with you:
The dotted frames denote the Command Stations.

Presumably you know of this wiki page (or at least the ones linked from it per galaxy)?

As always, this gets more impressive every day!

From your examples given, it looks like the shortest path is calculated by number of jumps, distance (in LY) or a combination of the two.
Now I doubt it would have much (if any!) practical impact, but would it not make more sense to assign systems to the Sector Command which is closest in travel
time?
As I understand it, longer jumps take exponentially longer time to perform. (I'm sure someone has the formula at their fingertips.)
Thus it would be at least theoretically possible that traveling from system B to system A takes less time than from C to A, even though the distance is farther in both LY and number of jumps.
As shown in
https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?p=91452#91452 , both types of calculation now exist in trunk.
