Instructions located here http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Pilot% ... nce_Manual

To hyperdrive press h
2.4.1.2
The Irrikan Thruspace drive is one of the smallest and most efficient hyperdrives on the market. The twin generators take up only 15 cubic metres of space onboard, and the quirium matrix reactor is one of the most efficient on the market today. Recent upgrades in the reactant injector assemblies have meant that the drive is less prone to misjumps: welcome news for those battle-scarred pilots who have been dumped in the middle of a Thargoid war zone far too often.

The standard control for initiating a hyperjump is marked h on the astrogation console, once a destination is plotted on the Short Range Chart. The same command may be used to abort a hyperjump during the countdown. Note that a hyperjump may fail if attempted too close to a large body.
Hope you enjoy yourself

Thank you

If you've got Oolite 1.73.4 installed, then that should have KZ9999's excellent reference sheet with it as standard and also his new pilot's guide.

If you've not got 1.73 installed, definitely worth having a look at the Oolite User Manual he created as well (which is linked to in his sig).

Check the Doc folder for useful files on how to do stuff.
(It's called doc in linux, maybe it's different on Windows or Mac).

The quick answer is ,
hit F6
use the mouse or arrow keys to choose the planet you want to go to.
hit f1 to get back to forward view
hit 'h' and that will launch you into hyperspace after a 15 sec warmup.
( good to keep in mind when trying to flee pirates via hyperspace)

You will land well away from the planet, travel toward the planet
(press 'J', to make it go faster)
Dock with the station (that's interesting the first time around)
and sell for a profit
then repeat.
When looking at prices via F8, hit F8 again, and check out the passenger and maybe bulk cargo markets.

Tut-tut, What IS the Lave Academy teaching these young Jamesons these days? I'd have thought Lesson One would have been:

When in doubt, check the User's Handbook located in the glove box beneath the right centre console.

Welcome to the community, Commander McMahon, and would you like to purchase a cute and fluffy companions for the long, tedious hauls between system stations? Only Cr30?

Good question, that.
Probably boils down to "Here's your ticket, and your Cobra is parked over there. Good luck."

Oh the frog in the docking bay takes care of "training".

It's a financing thing you see. Cowell & MgRath had this sweet deal with transgalactic insurance and Galcorp. Basically for every flesh packet they can stuff in front of a cobra they get to write off a chunk of that units construction tax. More over Galcorp and TGI subsidise the resulting ship. On the stipulation that the pilot takes out next of kin insurance on the craft.

In the event of a "zero survival occurance". The full value of the ship is redeemable from the pilots relatives. This usually results in slavery of about 3-8 family members. Of course a pilot can take out counter insurance (eg escape-pod). Eather way everyones happy. Galcorp keeps the economy going, Cowell & MgRath get another unit out the door and TG gets the monthly payments and or a near inexaustable supply of slave labour. Which can then be sold back to Galcorp and Cowell & MgRath at rock bottom rates.

It's rumored that for the past 7 years there have been only 5 "free" men running the whole of TGI. Well, that and a small army of compliance droids. It's not a perfect universe, but what can you do?

If you install FreeTradeZone oxp (and probably FuelTank, too) then you can trade at multigov. systems without docking at the station, for a while.

But it will be necessary to dock at some point (to save) though.

This is a very nice game.
