Is it possible to remove the HUD when docked? I always thought it odd, and a litle pointless, that you have the full HUD on show when docked as the scanner etc serve no purpose. i was wondering if it was possible for the HUD to be removed, and replaced w/, say, a "trading/uplink computer" image. This is partially resurrected due to scribbling a few HUD designs that work in-flight (more open space on the screen) but would obscure some of the text details on docked screens.

Don't you just Pause the game and press 'o' for 'off' and 'n' when you want it back oN?

yeah DH, that's get rid of it totally but i'd like a "docked" image just to differentiate.
oh well, back to the drawing board.

I like your idea KW.. it always seemed a little weird to me that the HUD was visible whilst docked.. maybe you ought to raise this over at 'suggestions'...

You can do but my point is do you need hud on when flicking between external views (surely external views is mainly eyecandy and doesn't require the hud), does it have to be "long winded" or "less user friendly" if you prefere, why not automate it?

Personally, I do like to keep an eye on the radar, even when using external views...
There's a few things we're trying to sort out atm - so don't expect anything too soon - but maybe we could have 2 types of otherwise identical external views: v (with HUD) and shift-v (without). How does that sound?

I appreciate the difference of opinion above suggestion sounds very cool.
Shame there is no way for me to write an oxp to do it for myself.
