i have installed this oxp, bought it and it shows up in my equipment list

so when i get to a system i keep pressing the hash key to find rock hermits, but nothing, have i got the wrong end of the stick?

You wont find them in every system, I'm afraid

ah but will they show up on the compass if they are present in that system, or do i have to be nearby?

It should pick them up from anywhere in the system..
