I've tried it. It's pretty good but I forgot most of the controls. But I can assure you that Oolite is offering more fun today.

Nice.
However, there's one big drawback:
No OXPs (

One big drawforward: Newtonian physics.
Every so often, I wish we had those in oolite. Then I think about it for a second, and realize that it;d be terrible.

I agree - they're two different games.
I sometimes get nostalgia-struck by the memory of dogfighting near the surface of a large planet, seeing the opposition crashing against a canyon's walls or failing to recover from a dive due to the strong Gs, and suddenly finding there's a large mountain range approaching at 20,000Km/h
... putting the ship in stable orbit around a sun
... going full thrust for 4.2AU, and flipping the ship at the midpoint
... taking care of every cop in an imperial station, then adding insult to injury by tossing a couple of tons of radioactives into the docking bay
... good times!
Anyhow, to fully enjoy the physics of FFE I really needed John Jordan's flight mode, and Oolite gave me a taste for modded missions and extras; it seems neither is available, so I won't download it.
[EDIT]: Nope, it seems it
is moddable... I just might give it a try...
