I'm the chairman of my local astronomical society... and we've been invited to visit Sir Patrick Moore's house on Sunday...
Like.... "I'm not worthy!"
Cheers,
Drew.

An ex-girlfriend of mine(no really!) once wrote a letter to the big man asking a question about the Northern Lights. She received a long, hand written letter in response. This would have been late ‘80s. Was very impressed with that.
Oh and don’t challenge him to a game of chess Drew, he is(was) a strong amateur player.

Ask him if he plans to revisit his role of "GamesMaster"

BTW, Patrick Moore holds a Guinness World record - the longest serving continuous presenter of a TV programme - Sky at Night (which is now on infrequently and at silly times, but it is still on!)

Get a picture of him holding an Elite logo/gamebox/wotever.
And tell him thankyou for explaining outer space.

Somewhere I still have a copy of "Patrick Moore's Astronomy Quiz Book" - my parents bought it for me when I was about 8 (about the same age I started reading EE Doc Smith) - Sci-Fi and Sci-Fa have been intertwined ever since...

I visited Patrick Moore's house when I was 8 (back in 1980). At the time, I was a real astronomy enthusiast and I think my dad just badgered the poor guy into inviting us round for an hour or two...
He was very gracious, signed a couple of my astronomy books and gave me a copy of the latest book that he'd just released. A real gentleman.
Drew -- ask him about the time that a tree obscured the view of Saturn from one of his garden observatories... (Hint: the outcome of the story involves a chainsaw.

I've just remembered an absolute gem...
Somebody was interviewing Patrick Moore back when David Icke started to go a bit strange, and asked him what he thought of it all:
PM: "David Icke can't be the son of God."
Interviewer: "Why?"
PM (with twinkle in eye): "Because I am."
