Famous Planets 2.0.oxp

Features
- Unique planetary textures for 46 planets in Galaxy 1
- Many HD textures up to 4096 x 2000 Resolution
- Planet descriptions for the F7 screen. Many descriptions are true to the described planets in Drew Wagar's novellas Status Quo and Multabilis. Others are short extracts from the excellent Rough Guide by Disembodied. Further desriptions where contributed by Pangloss and
Cmd Cheyd.
- For ten Famous Planets (Lave, Zaonce, Reorte, Tionisla, Tianve, Teraed, Leesti, Isinor, Diso and Lerelace) the OXP provides a theme tune which plays on arrival from witchspace and on launch from the main station.
- Famous Planets Oolite theme song

- Comes with a 30 page illustrated .pdf manual

You need a fairly powerful computer. At hits moment not light version is available. I will make that on request as it is easy to downsize most textures.

I recommend Oolite 1.71 and up.

About this OXP

With a sense of relief I can finally say this mammoth task is over. Famous Planets 2.0. greatly expands on the earlier versions of this oxp. My dream was to include almost every planet in Galaxy 1 as described in the Forums, The Novels by Drew Wagar or the Rough Guide by Disembodied. On top of that this .OXP also features the whole route from Lave to Tianve as shown on Presti70's excellent starmap. Link here:

And there's more to explore :)

Be sure to get the Famous Planets Liners also for the complete Spaceway experience here:

Without this wonderful community this was not possible. Thanks to all who help me to realize this .OXP.

Nice work pagroove, compliments. You have obviously put a lot of effort and dedication to it. Unfortunately, the size of the OXP means that downloading it will have to wait until tomorrow for me.

@ Cmd Cheyd,

Yes at last. The OXP is a behemoth in size now. But it's worth it. Anarlaqu shines in the center of Galaxy 1. :D

Thank you. Texturing is one thing but compiling the package and writing the planet guide was a LOT of work. Disembodied did great work to help me with typo check but I still saw a typo yesterday the Laenin screenshot.
But I'm glad it is released.

Don't forget to update the Wiki page to v2.0 (now that we have the lovely ability to do so back!).

Congratulations! A mammoth job done indeed.

One tiny question: is it compatible with other OXPs modifying these systems?

There are such OXPs for Lave, Diso, Tionisla and Tianve at least. It may also be nice to crosslink to these OXPs on the wiki..

Best wishes,
Oscar

It works fine with these oxp's. In fact I recommend these expansions. I have installed all flavour oxp's on my computer.
