1.72.2 CPU use

Hey all,

Downloaded and installed 172.2 test- as well I included add-on oxp files (my usual group).

Sound loads and plays. Graphics are bug-slow and interface sllllooooowwww to respond. Checked cpu use by exe and clocked it at 95-98%.

Before I move back to an earlier version (7.72 works fine) I thought I'd leave all as it is so you can request particular files to help you look for the problems:-)

What OS? What service Pack of the OS (if Windows)?

What A/V solution? Is it running or disabled? Was it running when the update was installed?

What video card? Driver?

What background programs / systray icons are running?

AV solution... Antivirus? If so, AVG. Oolite installed offline. AVG off when installing.
When offline and using pc for entertainment/work I turn off the active software, though 3 background minimal-memory processes continue running: AVG resident shield, AVG e-mail scanner, and AVG watchdog. No other background programs running other than a few of WinXPs nascent services I've not disabled. If a list of the Winxp services I've left on are needed, I'll provide.

anything else?

Did you enable shaders in Oolite?

It would be helpful to know what it is, for future reference. :-)

Gotcha-

I was fiddling with openGL compatability settings and was forcing software rasterization.
