How long does it take to starve one???

To starve one? You mean by not feeding it?

Forever. Trumbles are omnivores. Their choice of feeding sources is not limited to what you would consider food, and their appetite is limitless. They eat your other cargo as well, and if you don't have any, they feed on your ship's systems, and finally on your ship itself. I am not even sure whether a very hungry trumble would refrain from trying to eat you!

Why don't you try your escape pod in order to, well, escape from it?

I prefer to turn the table on the little pest.
A bun, some BBQ sauce, maybe some cheese, and a good hot deck plate.
Cook until the pest stops squealing and eat with chilled Reidquatian ale in the sunlight. Delicious.

I think the original question was to starve the trumbles and not how to prevent you from starvation.
Although I heard rumours that when they are put in a draft, they catch a cold, will stop eating and probably die because of this.

How can they catch a cold without having a nose? Strange.

BTW: When you were flying that two-seater, did they eat that co-pilot only, or did they eat the whole seat with it? I'm still trying to figure out if muzzles could work on them, but am afraid that they'd be happy to have some food hanging right in front of them!

I still recommend to use a speedy atmospheric ride instead of heading towards the sun. Reduces chances to lose a ship due to overheating immensely and it saves a LOT of time.

Screet, almost being trumbled every day

Obviously, they do not need to! Every cargo pod that can survive some time in space without the cargo being destroyed cannot evaporate an odour of what's in it. Still they do know in which pods are tasty slaves, liquors, narcotics, ...

Maybe they have some additional senses which do allow them to know what's inside?

I recall a trumble taking a liking to my tech's tail. She cornered the thing and stuffed it into an empty cargo container, then flushed it out the aft airlock. As far as I know, it's still orbiting Reidquat...

Ok kids will not get this reference.

Has anyone ever noticed how trumbles look a hell of a lot like devolved flumps?

PS any kids reading this. If you wish to know about flumps then go to youtube, that's what it's there for. :)

Me, I got a trumble once. Never again. NEVER!
Broiled it. It would be interesting, though, to see some mission revolve around trumbles....?

there is. The trumble mission is the mission that gives you a trumble.

Getting one was not intentional...

I picked it up in space after deciding that I did not like the paint job on the ship in front of me...

I seem to recall, years and years ago - when I was flying a Cobra MkIII with a Commodore console - some guy sold me a Trumble. Next thing I knew I had a whole cargo hold full of them.

If I recall correctly, I picked up a few tonnes of firearms in a really seedy system somewhere - apparently there was some Trumble-on-Trumble violence in my cargo hold. Killed most of them.

Does that seem possible? Could a Trumble have handled the weapons of that vintage? Can they handle the more advanced stuff that is around today?

Maybe I'll have to keep my eyes open for that guy again. Pick another one up. See if they are still every bit as annoying as they were back then.
