Hi guys ,
Newbie and been playing the game for about 3 days now and got to Average, anyhow has anyone done a dvd coverart for the game as it would be nice to print it and stick it on the shelf next to my old speccy copy of elite for posterity and it deserves shelf space

Hi, Mort, and first of all welcome to the boards and of course to this great game!
I wouldn't know of any cover art for DVD (the game isn't even available on DVD, unless you burn it for yourself, of course
).
But if you feel up to it, you could perhaps come up with something yourself. Or even start a competition?
Anyway, apart from the Oolite-logo the screenshots from the
screenshot-thread would probably be a good starting point.

Yep I was going to burn my own dvd so I could put it with my Elite games on the shelf, also it means if I ever have a hd failure or the sites down I have access to a copy, would make a great game for a desert Island.
Might have a go at a case and was thinking some of the art for the book covers might be a good starting point

Looks like a new competition idea! Oolite DVD cover competition. Like the Multabilis cover comp.

Go for it! There is plenty of talent on this board!
Cheers,

What would the installation CD/DVD have on it though?
Most recent installation of Oolite and all of the OXPs? Maybe a selection of the best OXPs?
Maybe a trailer for Oolite 2: Giles' Revenge?

Which would be out anytime after Elite IV by Braben?

The three great lies:
1. The cheque's in the post
2. "Of course I won't **** in your mouth"
3. Elite IV - out soon.

Hoggy... I'm a bit worried about your second lie... Remind me never to agree to a face-to-face Oolite gamers' meeting...

All OXP's and a simple installer to put them on and off.

Now all you have to do is edit the oolite badge in the back round.

There's all sorts of extra bumf that needs to go on box art... blurbs, awards, reviews, that sort of stuff. Plus we'd need an age rating:

30? Oh dear. I’d better stop working on it for a year and a half, then.

No, no, you can work on it - you just can't play it!

It's only an advisory. There are some people under 30 with sufficient maturity to handle Oolite. It's a short list, but I'm sure you're on it!
