No, they are going to blow up a planet, where some sort of hive mind bug have infested 1/4 off it, literally dug itself into the planet, and grown to occupy 1/4 of the interior of it...

It is just a very large missile, that heads for the planet, and on impact destroys the planet.. but we don't get a clear view of it, because at the same time.. two characters are standing at the view screen inside a space ship, and kissing... obscuring the view of the destruction of the planet... we can barely see that the surface cracks up a bit, before exploding, but the explosion itself looks very cheap, what we can see of it...
