Nice comeback! I'll pay that.. 8)

Enjoy your break and hope to see you back at some stage not too far in the distant future.

"He's been quiet lately...?"
"Ya... tooo quiet..."

Maybe mild (cough) ADD? I dunno.. Anyways, I love art deco stuff, and was looking at some pics of some old trains when this idea (dementia?) hit me.
Here's the Crazy Train 01, an Ozzy Class freighter.

Also finished modeling Spaceman Spiff:

I am desperately trying to wrap my head around the other mapping modes so I can get the FS Leviathan and then the Planet Express to a point that I can share them. I am really not trying to be an ass about showing things and not sharing them, but I really have a hard time focusing on things, especially when I start getting frustrated, and there are sooo many ship ideas in my head that are all fighting to get out... I get as far as getting them into the game as a player only ship, and then I am already thinking about the next one... :( So seriously, if you see something that you really want in the game, and don't mind tweaking the settings, let me know, and I will send you the oxp.

@ Paradox - I am currently putting together a guide on how to incorporate emission maps and shaders in to ship OXPs.

Perhaps this may help.

Sounds good, I am sure I am not the only one who needs a "Shaders for Dummies" guide! }:] I actually have the emission maps mostly figured out now, but my onboard video can't do the other shaders. As it is, I have to turn off the glowies just to actually play the game. }:[

Oh, and I have also figured out subentities! };] Here's some of my projects so far..

You have some good designs there Paradox.

I also like the graffiti effect.

I thank you sir. }:] I know they are not "Elitish", but they are fun! The Crazy Train is an interesting vehicle to fly. It reminds me of Yosemite Sam riding the camel and yelling "whoa camel... WHOA CAMEL... WHOA CAMEL!!!"... " SPLAT! (found it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBhlQgvHmQ0) Or that old country and western song "Give Me Forty Acres And I'll Turn This Rig Around..." Great fun watching pirates try to mass-lock me as I almost pass them completely before the train slows down! };] It's a fast ship, but it does drive like a... um... well, train! };]

EDIT: Tested on another Debian install and there it works, so the problem is in my system. I'll leave this here, if someone else faces the same problem.

I've never really used Wings3d before and I'm starting to get really frustrated :x . Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with my setup? Here's what happens:

* I create a shape (tetrahedron for example).
* Then I mark a few edges as hard.
* Then I switch to faces, select all, right click and select "UV Mapping." This leads me to AutoUV Segmenting
* Then I right click, select "Continue" and select "Unfolding." This gives me the unfolded object.
* Then I right click and select "Create Texture." This leads to Draw Options.
* Then I click ok and get:
Internal error - log written to /home/spara/wings_crash.dump

Click a mouse button to continue working
Crash dump does not reveal anything to me. :(

Can't recreate the crash.

I'm on Win7 64bit & Wings3D 1.4.1

I recall some earlier version had problems with creating PNG textures, so out of habit I make mine as BMP.

Followed exactly what you did and like Zieman, I didn't get a crash dump.

Windows Vista 32bit (SP2) & Wings 3D 1.5.0.2013-01-23---20-20.mlab

I do tend to get crash dumps with some Voronoi or CSG operations, but not always.

If I could get my head around the UI for Blender I would probably use that instead. As it is, Wings is more intuitive for me.

Thanks guys for testing. I just knew it could not be that hard. There's obviously something wrong with my Debian install. Wish I knew what :-) .

Wow just spotted these - fantastic work! - the planet express ship is amazing! i'm sure there's glsl 'cel shader' examples out there on the web, i'll have a look to see if any of them are easily adaptable to oolite, they would be perfect for this ship

I did those a few months ago. There didn't seem to be too much interest in them, so I never finalized them for release. They are flying around in my Ooniverse however. If you want them, let me know and I will make them accessible, and you can tweak them however you like. };]
