What's the situaton with these now?

They are still disabled for players. I am not at all sure why.

In order to enable them again, they would have to be inserted in the optional_equipment-array of all player ships in shipyard.plist, or would have to get the available_to_all-key in equipment.plist.

If there is no secret programmer reason against any of these, I would vote for making them available again in the next release.

There was a problem with the aiming and you had to compensate, but I used to enjoy them visually, so I would vote for reinstatement too. My preferred option was to have them side mounted with militaries fore and aft.
