In an hamadryad, I can't use external fuel tanks.

As said in the topic. After buying an hamadryad vessel, external fuel tanks stopped working. If I "fire" an external fuel tank by typing t m a real mine is started an flying away of my vessel, but my fuel is not recharged.

What can I do about this?

Hi, krombart, and first of all welcome to the boards, and of course to this great game! :D

The obvious question is: After buying the Hamadryad, have you bought external fueltanks again? The ones you had with your old ship were of course sold together with that ship. And your new Hamadryad had only missiles fitted when you bought it.

The next thing: If you have different things in your missile pylons, like missiles, mines and fueltanks, you have to scroll through them first and select the item you want to fire. By default your ship will select the item in your first pylon, and that could be a missile instead of a fueltank. Scrolling through your pylons is by default done with Y, but you need the Multi-Targeting System in order to do that.

Could this be related to this?

I bought only fuel tanks and tested it again. It's again the same. The fuel tank gets jettisoned and I can try to catch it. I don't know what happens if you can scoop it in, as it always shattered on the hull of my ship.

Without external fuel tanks for extra Wichspace Fuel Injection its a pain to fly such
a slow ship like the hamadryad.

It could be related to what disembodied linked, but I use 1.65 not 1.72. So far I don't know if it is relevant.

I don't think you have to scoop it. Just jeteson. It should explode and then the extra fuel is added. Think the new version might use Jarva Script though so woudn't work on 1.65. 1.71.n is now pretty stable so you may want to upgrade your Oolite version.

No. A warning about a deprecated function means that it still works, but should be replaced with a better approach. In the case of scriptActionOnTarget: it will continue to work (but slowly) for the foreseeable future, since it was part of the previous stable release.

@LittleBear:

Yes, it gets jetsoned but it does not explode and no fuel is added.

Version 2.0, which is the one available from the Wiki, does not use JS, but is purely legacy scripting. So it should work with 1.65.

I have version 2.0 from the wiki.

I have now installed oolite-dev autopackage. (1.72 or so )

I AM AMAZED! The Fueltank works. The loading time before a witchspace jump is one tenth (!) of the time v1.65 needed. KEWL!

I think my version numbers are all a bit messed up for this OXP. I'll correct the entries on both the Wiki and on my website, hopefully this weekend, along with all the other scriptActionOnTarget stuff I need to do.
