French tartan at that too! You must be decended from those on the Isle of Ouessant on the Atlantic coast of Brittany who's tartan that is.
:lol:

Nope.. I just did a google image search for tartan, and picked a brightly coloured one that I thought wouldn't look too horrible.. :mrgreen:

Yep - star_count_multiplier = 100; - and no nebulae!

Thanks! Modified copy of planetinfo.plist going into my Addons/Config folder now! 8)

<wanders off to see how it looks>

Edit: It turns out Realistic Stars overrides star_count_multiplier, so I had to move its planetinfo.plist entry "sky_n_stars" = 6000; from "universal" to "interstellar space" like so.

Code: Select all

{
	"interstellar space" =
	{
		"sky_n_stars" = 6000;
	};
	universal = {
		"sky_rgb_colors" = "0.6 0.7 1.0 1.0 0.8 0.4";
		"ambient_level" = "0.1";
		"corona_flare" = "0.90";
		"corona_hues" = "0.1";
		"station_roll" = "0.1";
	};
}
And I found that 600,000 stars was a bit much, so I reduced things a little by star_count_multiplier = 75; and now it looks much more like space should appear from outside the atmosphere! 8)

It can lead to a lot of stars in some systems. I'm also using modified star colours, Diz - sky_rgb_colors = "0.6 0.7 1.0 1.0 0.8 0.4"; - from Knotty, I think.
Tinkering with those numbers can have some cool effects too.

I was already using Knotty's "Realistic Stars" OXP, and I had to make some changes to it as well.. see above.

I only used Knotty's numbers. Odd - I thought the max for "sky_n_stars" was 4800?

No idea.. I gather Knotty derived the 6000 figure from estimates of how many stars can be seen from Earth at night by the unaided eye of the average person. (From what I've seen at night in the middle of the outback, over 1000km from the nearest source of light-pollution, that estimate is way low.. :lol: )

I like nebulae. The more the merrier, and colorful too.

Regarding your Jameson approaching Griff's new Ico: Magenta laser blasts! GalCop will not even give beginning contrabandista's a break, heh?

I used to have the nebulae fairly intense - but I took them out completely over a year ago.

Yeah... ain't that the truth! I think that was five Vipers after me there - I didn't even make it to the jump (and relative safety)! I will next time!
Commander Jameson, the apprentice contrabandista, is doing pretty good for only nineteen days in space though:

Location: Inera in chart one. Lining up with Griff's new Ico... the shaderless version. Lovely!
