UPDATED OXP: Kestrel&Falcon 1.70.1

Kaks Korp, the testing and R&D subsidiary of Benulobiweed Inc, is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the revamped Kestrel and Falcon models!

A lot of minor problems have been ironed out, and a couple of bugs that caused oolite to crash mid-flight have been removed.

This oxp is compatible with Oolite 1.65 and 1.70+. Due to script incompatibilites, the comms chatter from falcons and kestrels is now only available on Oolite 1.70 and up.

Have a look at the included readme before installing this oxp: forewarned is foreamed! :P

No more ... must not say crashes, more like ... unintended game endings because of falcon & kestrel any more :D

Me too, but it really doesn`t look like it. Found a buyable Falcon-S in the shipyard for the very first time. Cool! 8)

Perhaps I could divert your attention to another Benulobiweed ... creativity? :twisted:

The Condor.oxp! I found out that the Condor was supposed to be a buyable, 1200 t Cargo, 16 missiles & 22 energy banks Uber ship for the small sum of 5.5 million Cr! :shock:

I thought that was cool and found & corrected the typo that would stop the Condor to appear in the shipyard. But alas, the game ... ended unintentionally * looks over shoulder * ... while starting up. I changed the ridiculous missile & energy banks settings down but no luck.

Perhaps you might have a look in there what`s going on :?:

This is going to be so awsome! The falcon was the secent oxp I installed! But I had to remove it due to bugyness. I can't wait to download it, but whenever I click download, It said concting, And won't load, so could you put this on the wiki, Please?

Unfortunately, the file is too big to upload directly to the wiki, though I'm going to put a link to the oxp there asap.

Please try the following alternative link: Kestrel&Falcon1.70 hopefully, this should work a bit better.

It worked so hard with such a fury right in the face! thanks good person!
I might make an oxp soon (odd, I'm probly the secont youngest person on the forms)

The Kestrel’s AI has an error that will cause it to crash in earlier versions of Oolite. (The error is caught in 1.70 and probably 1.69.)

Thanks for finding that. Here's v1.70.1, with a better kestrel AI.

Something is wrong with Falcon's laser. I can hardly hit anything. It seems that it strikes somewhere to the left of the cross/screen center.

Yes, that's intentional. The laser itself is coming from the centre of the ship, but your viewpoint is from the side. It takes a while to get used to, but after a while everything seems to click into place...

On the other hand, docking manually with a Falcon is £$@#*&% near impossible.

I just noticed the kestrel&Falcon.oxp on the wiki was never updated and its script contains code that does no longer work with Oolite 1.73

I just updated it to version 1.71

maybe someone here can help me, i finaly got to buy a falcon but the target reticle doesnt work but it works on other ships.
has anybody come across this problem?
