Cloaking device self-repair confuses me. As the device affects game balance, i suggest it should be repaired on military ships only and the repair should be expensive ;-)

I didn't know it can be repaired. I always cancel the game and started a old one when it gets defect because I thought it was not repairable because of its technical level of 99.

I don't have it yet (still in Galaxy 4), so I can't tell, but I also would've guessed that it's not repairable because of its techlevel.

Perhaps Arkanoid plays Assassins and the removement and re-awarding results in a repaired device?

It's a bit of an anomoly that it can't be repaired, or repurchased if it's damaged. I am assuming that any of the ship's equipment can be randomly damaged in a full blown fight, so I'm wondering if any other non purchasable equipt could also be affected.

Everything can get broken in fight. The only exceptions are the extra cargo bay, missiles and mines. And yes, it is a problem for equipment that is awarded and can not be bought on the market like the cloaking device. Programmers should think of that. (When I remembered right, LB's assassins automatically replaces the Mark transponder when it was damaged.)

The cloaking device is self repairing.

Mine has just repaired itself this evening.

Only if you have Assassins Installed. The correct way to for me to have disabled the cloak would have been have only given the player it back if he had it with a found equipment = YES do set mission_assassins_hascloak TRUE. But I did it by checking instead that you had completed the cloaking device mission. 99 times out of 100 this gives the same result, but you could have completed the mission and then had your device destroyed. The Assassins script assumes you did have it and the script took it away when you were doing a mission and gives you it back, effectively automatically repairing it. (The Guild released repairing nano-bots onto your bridge when they installed the Mark Transponder Scanner). Didn't foresee the "feature" when I released Version 1, but I decided to keep it in for V1.3 as never being able to repair a damaged cloak did seem a bit unfair.
