Is there any way to get back to galaxy 1. I am now in 7.
I would like to work my way up again and settle a few old scores

I'm afraid your only recourse is buying a Gal-hyperdrive and jumping to G8, then another to get back to 1.

Why afraid? In j f gearing's case that's
waaaaaay cheaper than jumping back through six galaxies would be (
if that would be possible, which of course it isn't! (just before anybody asks (perhaps that should be in the FAQ as well?))).

Yes it should be in the FAQ, new peeps to Elite/Oolite would not know that you cycle through the galaxies in one direction and that GHing from 8 will take you back to 1
