A funny thing happened on the way to the Hospital...

I jumped into Riveis system in Galaxy 1 & got mass locked by a ship. Turning on the Ident System it said it was a Moray Medical Boat - Clean, as I was. Thinking no more of it I hit the Injectors when suddenly it turned red on the scanners & attacked me!
Needless to say after a short burst of Mil front laser there was only one winner.
Was this a bored ambulance driver? What did the poor patient think?

What was your legal status? Maybe the Moray pilot was considering a career brak in bounty-hunting.....
Or he 'went postal (medical?)'

It's because the MorayMED (by mistake?) has pirate AI.

This shouldn’t happen for built-in ships in 1.69.

I was clean at the time.

That could be it. Thinking after my inital post I thought that perhaps a pirate had stole a Moray Med ship.

I'm on V1.65 which I've been told is the last stable version. If there's a later stable version how do I upgrade without losing my saved Commander?

Installing a newer version will not effect your Oolite saves, but I always keep a back up of them anyway. Just take a copy and keep it somewhere safe.

I keep all my Commander save-files backed up on my flash drive. Sounds a bit like Norman Mosser and his clones, doesn't it.....

That's great thanks.
What's the latest stable version?

At present the most stable release is V. 1.65, although it has a number of bugs (ghost ships, sticky messages, etc.) and is available
here.

1.65 is the latest official “stable” release. 1.68 is a test release which is quite stable. 1.69.1 is a test release which is more problematic. Test releases are available
here.

...and you would easily find all this information in the
Oolite-FAQ.

The other day a clean Cobra MKIII turned hostile on me after I had saved his behind from 3 pirates. He turned nasty when I was scooping the pirates cargo. He didn't attack he just sat there all red & saying nasty things!
Suppose I shouldn't complain as harsh words hurt my old Cobra MkII-X less than lasers or missiles.
Thee sort of strange occurances add flavour to what is already an excellent game.
