That'd be well cool In fact, quite a few of those would make good replacements for the rings.

It would seem more like a wormhole to me.

A better hyperspace than just rings wold be really cool though as well

A new wormhole would be interesting, but only if it didn't affect the handling of the game. One thing I'd like to see is when you mis-jump and end up in interstellar space, the Witchspace 'rings' collapsing rather than your ship passing through them. Just a thought.
