Changing from strict to unrestirected mode

Hi everybody.

I played oolite for some time now and enjoyed it very much. I even have some money gathered up and a good trade line to fly. Now I tried to buy a new ship and discovered, that I had somehow set the game to strict mode. So it's impossible to bye new ships. Is it possible to change the mode without having to start a new game? I'm running oolite 1.65-5 on debian etch/testing.

Regards Halandriel

Hi Halandriel,

open your savefile with a texteditor, not openoffice or something fancy... find the entry that says 'strict' and delete the whole part that says something like

Code: Select all

<key>strict</key>
<true/>

save the savegame under another name and launch it, should work

There’s no official way to do it.

The naughty way is to open the saved game in a text editor, find the lines:

Code: Select all

<key>strict</key>
<true/>
and remove them.

Aiya, mellon!

It's uncommon to see the Eldar around here, but why not? After all, we do have large felines, birdoids and lobstoids, and Arda is not yet completed...

So, be welcome and make yourself at home in our happy den of pseudo-innocent traders, opportunistic pirates, occasional smugglers, self-righteous bounty hunters and other assorted murderous types. Or, at least as much as you can, given the company. :oops:
