The term spacer should not be attributed to me, it is a common SciFi terminology, coined probably even before the internet was a kernel.
The Internet has military rank?

Yeah, Al Gore bestowed upon himself when he invented the Internet.

More Phillip K Dick and William Gibson references?

Chromehead - a plug and pray crewmember/pilot, including direct-linq (TM) interface or other cranial implants. Members of this subculture often exhibit their status by sporting chome craniums or even extravagant hyperchomatic external cooling fins.

Tachikoma - a non-humanoid AI droid
Tai-chi coma - stardreamer prototype, named both for it's developper (Tai/Chi-Corp. Neuroware Dev.) and the detrimental effect on the PR-rep presenting the device on the Galax Expo.
(Some heartless comedians would claim the salariman's personality was actually improved)

I'd like to think The Hoff had a role in creating the Internet too. The man gets around :)

Oh, and F_C? There are two Ls in intellectual :)

He's going to do a remake/movie of the Knight Rider isn't he?

Bladerunner/PK.Dick:
skinjob - biomechanical construct (biological robot)
Not neccesary cyberpunk but related:
fakemeat - cheap synth-e-flesh or even fleshcoloured polymer used on low-grade social-interface 'bots. As a consequence such robots are oft referred to as fakemeat.
suck-bot - Droid equipped with Social Interaction Protocols.

Well, if it comes to that, there's no asterisk in w*naking, either ;)!
And so I gave myself to God. There was a pregnant pause before He said "OK"

Two f's in coffee and no f in (f***ing) tea. It's a very old joke.

I think it was forced into mandatory retirement about ten years ago and presently lives in an Old Jokes Home. :D

That was the joke I actually got. I was more referring to the rest of the talk in a general way.

Never mind. It's just that I obviously haven't read the same things as other people (or, sometimes it's the same things, but in another language). So I was just complaining about missing all the in-jokes.

But, as I said, never mind.

Never mind, Commander Mac, you now know what I feel when I read a converstaion between Ahruman and another_commander. :sigh: One day I shall have time to try and learn all this fascinating gibberish and catch up.

Until then...
