Location of OXP's

Okay, folks, it's decision time. As we know, Oosat Two's Administrator, Winston has, through no fault of his own, fallen behind and has been asking for assistant Admins. However, the
suggestion has been made to move the OXP's presently available on Oosat One/Two to the Oolite part of the Elite Wiki.
What are your opinions?

Well, you know how I feel - Wiki all the way!

Persoanlly I like Oosat2, its just the updating thats the problem. With Ooast2 its easy to edit and post new OXPs. If winston could give the codes for updating to Captain H and the other volunteers next time he's about then the update problem at least is solved. I resubmitted a fair number of missing ones last x-mass and moving (believe me) moving them all to the wikki is a major task.

If it's a choice between Oosat2 as it is now and the Wiki, then the Wiki. But if Winston and others can get it back to what it once was (quick/instant updates, no spam, ratings and proper, comprehensive category lists), then I think that would be better.

When the rubber meets the macadam, it's whatever will be the easiest to maintain. That way it will be more likely to be maintained. I do not see much of a difference on the "pulling" end, just on the "putting" end.

Is there any kind of storage limit on either Oosat or the Wiki, that could be an important decider (is that actually a word????
).

Enough to be understood. We seem to be communicating!

Well being a truebrit through and through I can verify it is indeed a word, ie a noun often used in a sporting or competitive context, (eg the final round of an elimination contest) rather than it's literal meaning of "one who decides"

The only limit on how much can be uploaded is the size of the server. Mediawiki and Drupal don't have any limitations on how much information is stored within the site structure.

@TGHC - Bush has championed that more "literal" usage, though...

Wiki.
Several reasons:
-one place less to administer,
-everybody can chime in, w/o waiting for uploads
-more possibilities to add pictures and extensive commentaries, how-to's, tips etc.
-less spam worries
-I like wiki's

I'm going to have to vote for the Wiki approach. It will consolidate everything in one place and, as previous posters have noted, it will be subjected to less spam.
As for categories I think you'll need the ones mentioned above - I think a misc. category might be worthwhile (for replacement huds, clearskies oxp etc.)

Might as well go wiki. I found the links to Oosat there to start with. I'll pile on that the main point should be whatever is easiest to update and maintain will usually work the best...
