Status Quo, Oolite Novella, online version, er... online!

Folks,

I've uploaded the complete version of 'Status Quo' to my website under the standard Oolite creative commons license in PDF form.

You can get it via the Status Quo Page at the Elite Wiki. It's about 1.3 Megs.

The file name is 'Status_Quo_Chapter_Four.pdf' due me not wanting to loose the link from the main oolite page which I think only Giles can change, but does include the full story, in case you're wondering.

Creative commons license effectively allows you to:

Copy, Distribute, Display, Make Movie out of and otherwise perform the work (love to see that - any volunteers?)
Make derivative works

As long as you:

Give original author (me!) credit
You don't make any money out of it. Non-commercial only!
If you build/write anything based on this story you must distribute with the identical license.

Details are in the doc. This is the basis of 'Oolite' itself, so I'm keen to promote the same collaboration.

'Status Quo' was written by me, but with huge input from this board in terms of critique, ideas, enthusiasm and production help, so it belongs to all of us.

Hope you enjoy - and 'Mutabilis' (Status Quo 2) is in the works.

Cheers,

Drew.

Why not put it up at Oosat once Winston is back? Or do you want to keep track how many downloads you get?

Keen on tracking the downloads from my end (and plenty of bandwidth, atleast for now!)

I guess I can put a link on Oosat though, can't I?

Cheers,

Drew.

That's what I have started doing with expansions to be able to make quick updates and corrections without having the entries removed while waiting for re-approval (though most of my expansions are gone atm while waiting to be re-approved with this change :)).

@drew I look forward to reading it - it you catch the spelling mistakes and grammatical errors in this version? If you're not sure you've got them all I'd be happy to rethumb my paper copy and make note of them (I'm a technical report reviewer at work so it'd be nice to go through something less dry and academic!)

You've inspired me to start writing again - so perhaps some Oolite inspired short-stories may eventually see the light of day...

Please do list the errors, I've not caught all of them by any stretch! PM or email me at your convenience!

Cheers,

Drew.

I'll reread paper copy and mark up the ones I find and then PM them to you. Give me a week or so - workload and decorating notwithstanding!

Got a bit stuck with that one at the moment. Got the start and the end sorted out, but struggling with the middle. I will revisit though.

Cheers,

Drew.
