Noob's Mission : Asteroid Storm OXP

This OXP adds a new mission well suited for a novice Commander in Galaxy 1, featuring 12 new asteroid models by "Charlie".
You are docked at a station near Lave, in a system well known to suffer from asteroid storms. Sure enough, as you drop off your cargo, you hear the sound of small asteroids glancing off the Station's shields. Suddenly all hell breaks loose, Commanders running for their ships, leaving their cargo behind!
A vast asteroid has been detected approaching the Station. It is so massive that if it strikes, destruction of the mighty Dodec is certain. Will you stay and help or get out of Dodge?
The mission has three possible endings depending on your actions.
The mission will trigger when you are docked at a certain system within 7 light years of Lave and are ranked at least "Above Average". I won't tell you the name of the system, but you may find that checking your F7 screen gives a clue!
This is intended to be a faily easy mission, but a bit of fun!
EDIT:-
An updated version of Asteroid Storm (v3.0) is now uploaded to the Wiki. This has a few bug fixes and new features. Clinking the link here or on my signature will take you to a Wiki page which sets out the changes and gives you a download link.

@LB - oxp looks fantastic - being a newbie I'm still a few kills off AA - but by the time I get back to the planet in question I should be there. Nice one. I can't wait to play!
As the Capt. says you're up there with the Gods!

Just a factor of being self-employed!
3 days with no work = do an OXP!

I propose we set up the "Please Feed the LittleBear" fund. That way he can take more time off work and produce more OXPs.
And what's up with the Lesser God? He's at least a major deity, if not his own d**n pantheon! All hail Ursa Minoris!

Looks good. It's one of those missions that a space game like this really needs.
Perhaps it could even be made to happen at random stations too - if only rarely.

Idealy, I wanted it to be random and just happen when the player met the Elite Rating requirment wherever he was (as I think this is the way the mission was in Classic Elite).
The trouble was, I needed the death of the station by the Asteroid to set a mission flag with Death Actions, so I needed a special station. I just did a clone of the normal Dodec with the Death Actions, but this meant I had to place the special station somewhere. The description of the system where the mission takes place is altered to add the line "but cursed by deadly asteroid storms." So the player gets a clue as to where to go!
Doing a <key> universal would have put my station everywhere, but I couldn't do that as then all the Trans-habs, Torus Stations etc would be removed and replaced with Dodecs.
The other code problem was that I needed the special asteroids AI to do a scanforshipwithrole in order to lock on to the station and crash into it. This meant I had to know which type of station would be there. I also needed to remove the station permenatly if the player let it be destroyed, so it needed to be at a particular system. Failing in this mission does leave its mark on the Ooniverse!

Sorry, couldn't hear that too well over my Witchdrive engines powering up.....

Even a ship with witch drives held together with blue tack should be able to jump out or destroy the asteoid! Be aware of the Commanders (Extreame Cowadice), (Attempted Kind Deeds) and (Kind Deeds) Acts, all properly enforced by the GalCop (Ethics) Department!

That's all well and good, yer Honour (/touches forelock respectfully), but bein' all hon'rable like yesself dun't go too far at payin' t' crew. This bunch o' scabby no-good dossers'd up'n jump ship faster'n yer could say 'It's a massive rock, so it's got no lasers or missiles to shoot at yer'.

"And besides, you've not had to live with a transvestite chef whose had his high heels and fishnets allowance severed indefinately due to the cost of ship repairs. I assure you, boiled boot-leather broth is only slightly less painful than doing EVA repairs without a space-suit."
Bugs!
