Messages "stick" on the screen (don't fade out).

Frequently (pretty much all the darn time) the various text messages that pop up on the screen (incoming missile, ECM activated, injectors engaged, etc.) will NOT fade out, but will simply stick and cause me to have to cycle through several keys to make them move off the screen so I can see again. It's expecially annoying when they cover the crosshairs while you are trying to line up a shot.

I'm running the latest Windows version of Oolite. Is there a fix, should I just live with it, or is this something unique to my game.

It's an ongoing bug. I get particularly irritated when I'm trying to nail a fugitive SuperCobra and I can't make him out through one of his comm messages: 'You'll pay for that you Gomorean piss ant!'

I experience it too.

Hopefully somebody will look into the code and either solve the issue or make font size, color and placement of the on screen messages available for customization with the hud.plist or something.

I don't really know anything about coding. I only got to a very casual look at this: http://svn.berlios.de/viewcvs/oolite-li ... iew=markup
It might be something in there.

Edit: It might already be possible to move the messages out of the way and make them smaller. See: https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?t=2593

It's an intermittent bug, and so far no fix, a quick toggle between front and rear view moves it up out of the way. It does get irritating during a dogfight, but hey it's no big deal, just inconvenient. Hopefully in time some nice wizard will come along with a remedy
