Minor cosmetic update. Something holding the HUD in place and thicker lines around radar and advanced space compas for antialiasing the edges of the rounded features.

For better or for worse?

Oh, now that I like!

I think I'll be having some of that.

Nice one Doc.

I like the side clamps.

PS - How do I get an image of my CMKIII between the shield bars?

Thanks.

Here's a temporary Cobra Mk-III version. Until someone posts a really nice straight top shot of one in fairly high resolution (about 4-500 pixels wide) on a neutral background.
Dr HUD for Cobra Mk-III - If it looks a bit warped, it's because it was just cut out from the texture file.

I've been using the new HUD - its very nice - bit disorientated the first few times looking for stuff where it wasn't - but I'm used to it now.

Give yourself a pat on the back.

An easy way to get nice screenies of the ships is to use the external views in Oolite and define one of them to show a view from the top of the ship...

External views??

Tell me more.

Hit CTRL + V and your view will switch to a 3rd person view of your ship (and the Ooniverse around it). There are usually several camera angles available, hitting CTRL V again flicks to the next view. The game keeps running as noramal and you can fly your ship in this view if you like.

Image

The Camera's position for each view is defined in shipdata like this:-

Code: Select all

<key>view_description</key>
<string>External View 1</string>
<key>view_position</key>
<string>0.0 20.0 -100.0</string>

So like Wolfwood says, if you tweak your ships view_position to put the camera right above the ship, you can take a good snapshot.[/code]

Its just your basic Cobra III, paint still fresh leaving Lave for the first time.

Ramon is remodling the Classic Ships (no changes to their performance just beter models). For the Cobra III he has gone for the look of the Cobra III as it appeared on the cover of original BBC Elite!

Run with his new version of the Dark Wheel Cobra installed and all Cobra IIIs in the game (including yours of course and the rotating Cobra III on the game start screen) get the face-lift. Its made of sub-entries, so when you meet a Cobra you can shoot his wheels off, blast his scanner masts away etc, the damage you do to his shields being refected in the state of his ship!

Not on Oosat2 yet, but you can get it here:-

This is an awsome HUD.

Ive used it for a while now and am very used to it. However I've just bought a Supercobra and wonder where there is a picture available to put in the custom HUD. Or am I missing something somewhere.
