The Revival of Oosat

OK - so I'm currently reviving Oosat. It'll have the latest version of Drupal (4.7.x, was 4.6.x). I've only got as far as getting Giles's Oosat theme working with 4.7.

Content will need re-uploading, commenting etc. I'll make the old broken Oosat available, but I'll probably need some help getting everything back as it was. I may be also calling for someone to help administer the site too, because if it's left up to me I'll get behind :-)

However, you can create user accounts and *log in* to the new one.

Yay! Much appreciated.

(BTW: I re-registered) and the ack. email landed in gmail's spam category, grin

thanks for the headsup, Rxke. I might have waited a long time ;)

Wonder why it's doing that. I can't think of anything in what drupal sends that would look spammy - perhaps Google sees lots of near identical mails from different Drupal sites.

Incidentally - the broken Oosat is at:

http://oldsat.alioth.net

*NOTE*NOTE*NOTE* I've not been able to find in the database where the base URL is configured - it's not in any of the usual places. As such, all the links on oldsat point in the wrong place (they all point to http://oosat.alioth.net/.... which is the new one). So to get to the actual content you'll have to Copy Link in your browser, paste it into the address bar and manually change 'oosat' to 'oldsat'.

On the subject, now that Giles has taken a step back and the voting fogures have been lost from the old Oosat, does anyone know what's happening with the Pimp My Cobra competition?

Had a look at the new Oosat. Although there are now some links to some of the OXPs, there doesn't seem to be a link to any of the download files.

Is it just me?

you have to click the link to the addons you are interested in and then you get a screen with the desc. plus files for download.

Hmm! I've clicked on the AddOn and get the description of the OXP, but no link to a download. :(

EDIT : Now I have created a new users account, the link is available!

Grr!

I have a user name and password and I can log in OK, but I can't find the Add Expansion pack button, that the site is telling me to click to upload!

'Create content'. Top left. Under your name.

Good job, Winston. I'll re-upload my two OXPs to the new site shortly. One question - how come there's no longer a category for stations? (My second OXP is a station, with a mission as well.)

I thought I created some "content", but when I tried to add the oxp.zip drupal claimed to want only jpegs. So I created the content anyway, thinking I could add the oxp later. But now I can't even find the content I created on the site. Am I stupid?

Once you upload, you have to wait a bit for Winston to add the new upload to the site. Should come up tomorrow! I coudn't work out how to add the OXP itself to Oosat, so included a link to my file sharing site. Not sure how you edit content you have submitted though. Must be a way though as people often edit to add updates.

It's set to take ZIP amongst other formats. Try again. I've not published it yet because it lacks an attachment.

Also, I've tweaked things a bit and you should be able to now edit your own stories (as well as anonymous users being able to download).
