Hurrah! Thanks to Giles, for sorting the problem - and huge credit to Cody for putting in a long nightshift of killing, killing, killing …

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Has anything good ever come out of yandex? I'm inclined to ban all @yandex.* email addresses. What do you think, Big D?

I tend to agree - it's certainly become the spam domain du jour, and even though it's a legitimate provider I don't think I've ever seen a single real forum member using it. Maybe their Captcha has been compromised or something, but it's currently representing at least 90% of all the bots I'm seeing.

We can screw it off now, and try unbanning it again in a couple of weeks.

Item of slight interest to spamwatchers: there seems to be a new naming protocol for spam accounts kicking about. The good old "First-name-followed-by-three-random-letters" is still very much current, of course, but there appears to be a new one which uses little Danish phrases, all in lower case and shorn of any diacritical marks - e.g. "varde a laks", "lille bogreol", "sorte hvidlog opskrift", etc. (I'm assuming Danish, and not Norwegian, because one of them was "danske digtsamlinger", which translates as "Danish poetry collections"). Quite a few seem to be food-related … "stege and i stegepose" is "roast duck in roasting bag".

They’re coming thick and fast today … not many getting through the shields, though.
