I was in a rock hermit (if you'll pardon the expression) negotiating the sale of gems and so on, when suddenly I was unceremoniously dumped out of the asteroid lair.

On perusing the rear view, said rock hermit exploded moments later under fire from several Cobra mk3s and a Python.

Presumably my alter ego realised the rock hermit was under attack and legged it back to his ship?

yes thats the fruit of one Ooliteer posting the tale of unknowingly getting blown apart while inside a hermit, and Giles taking quick action to assure that would never happen again.

Perhaps there should be some sort of an alarm system when a station gets attacked and leaving would be up to the player?
