Hi, I'm new to the forum but I'm an old schooler delighted to find an up to date version of Elite for the PC.

My biggest problem with Oolite is the keyboard layout; I just can't get used to it.

Can anyone tell me (in simple language, 'cause I ain't a tech-head!) how I can set the keyboard up to replicate the old BBC layout?

hi.
take it youre not on a Mac, since that keyconfig should be included with your download package. and it isn't with Linux/PC?

Thanks Murgh. Unfortunately I'm on a work owned laptop, and the C drive (where the program installed itself) is hidden so I can't access the file!

Yeah, some games / applications seem to get past the "Administrator Privileges are required" screen! Don't ask me how!

well until you get admin privilege, you're learning the Oolite keys.. ;)

or does the PC version search alternate places for an AddOns folder like the Mac version?

No, because NSHomeDirectory() seems to have some problems under Windows GNUStep.

This is something I'd like to see fixed, but can't actually do myself (not having, or particularly wanting, a Windows machine to develop on).

LOL the evilness of windows strikes again! THANK THE LORD for Mac's, other wise people who want computers that work out-of-box would be screwed
