Code freeze coming up

Are there any pending features that are being considered and/or are under development aiming for version 1.92?

If anyone has something in mind or working on such a feature please say so now. A code freeze is expected soon and, once initiated, no more new features will be accepted for 1.92, only bug fixes and documentation updates.

I’ve got a tweak to a JavaScript file to publish. I’ll create a PR tonight

This last time I was offered a Trumblebox I was on a big nice screen, and thought I’d like to redo that pic with better resolution. Is that possible and if so by when?

Of course it is, as for when, there is no set date for the freeze right now and I don't want anyone to feel like we are assigning work. Go ahead with it and let us know when it's ready to include in the assets and then we can commence the freeze right after that.

Cool, I'll give it a go and see if it can be improved significantly.

No significant change, just resolution improvement so it should look better on today's fancier screens than back in 2006. I would think we can handle bigger files than then too, but you must decide where the threshold is at.

I haven't yet been able to replicate in game, so it sits where the original was at, maybe it could use a reposition tweak too?
This is a 1024px one (uploaded at 300kb which Flicker returns at 64kb :?:) and here is a 2048px version on Box.

Any adjustments or niggles I missed?

Examined the 2048x2048 image properties and they are the same as the old low res one. Tested it in-game, looks great. Added it to the game's assets and is now in.

Great job and thank you very much!

:D
Thank you for continuing to chip at it! It's a wonderful thing.

ΟΚ, so... are we good to go in code freeze as of Sunday February 1st? I think our feature set is now complete.

Sounds good to me. The only thing I might add is a link in the master README.md to the readthedocs site I've generated off my fork if it's in a good enough state before Feb 1.

I've made the PR to add the link to the readthedocs which makes available the PDFs online (in markdown other than the reference sheet). There's also a new section about game data locations.

I think that this is relevant... but am not sure.

I'm in G2 with a new Jameson (Start locations variety pack) and have Thargoid Wars running.

At G2 Anvere, I launched due to a Thargoid raid. With no extra equopment worth a damn, and my pathetic combat skills, I ended up tagging along with a squadron of vipers to play safe.

These vipers are in scanner-range of the main orbital station which is under attack and is continually broadcasting "We're under attack! Friendly ships please respond".

But the vipers carry on flying past the station and seem to be ignoring the message. The attack is coming from behind the station which is 90° to the right of our flight path.

This seems wrong - and I'm presuming that this is a vanilla code issue which needs fixing. Am I wrong?

It all depends on what Thargoid Wars is doing, and how it's attack is generated, what roles the ships have been given, what AI the Vipers ended up with, etc etc. It doesn't imply, per se, that the problem is with core code. I'm not saying there isn't a problem, but without spending some time with the code inside Thargoid Wars I won't be able to answer any more definitively. And with the last update for this being issued in 2011, there is probably a lot of code debt in there that needs addressing. I'll add it to the (very long) list.

Edit to add: And I would be leaning towards the problem being in Thargoid Wars, rather than core code, in the first instance anyway.
