Hiran tried one of the Star Destroyers out for a month or so - pester him about it.

I'm not a member of the inner circles, but might it have been due to the ritual defenestration of the enemies of the Witchspace Lobster, which requires a cessation of all electronic activities while the scurvy scum are hauled to the top of the Amber Portico of Uscela before being thrown pell-mell into the outer darknesses?
