Broken docking computer?

I was recently on a small mining expedition at Ra, and I thought i'd go to sell my hard earned cargo. As I approached the station at Ra, I turned on my docking computer and went over to do something else (IRC, as it happens). I happened to glance left as the system announced final clearance for docking, only to crash my ship straight into the navigation bouy! Has anyone else ever seen this happen?

Ta,

C

It may happen. As far as I know Docking Computer is not afraid of any obstacle on his way. It's safer to use SHIFT+d

That's a shame - I like to listen to the music while it's doing it's thing :-)

The docking computer may not act as we would like sometimes (see this thread for my experience).
Don't take this as gospel but I think Giles may be looking at this, anyway, I always use speed docking (shift+D) nowadays!

No, I am not that patient; I just want to buy fuel, jump to another system and kill again

Sometimes I play just to relax and de-stress, hence my love of mining. If I can just find it again, there's a mining asteroid near Ra where I can spend a couple of hours just blowing rocks up and collecting the bits. Tres relaxing.
