Game freezes after docking rings

I'm trying to play the 1.65rc1_r658 version of Oolite-PC to run on my Sony laptop. It is a P4 2.8Ghz with 1MB of RAM with a Radeon IGP345M mobile video card. The game starts up and plays the title and demo gallery with no problems. I can get into the UI and trade, bring up planetary info, etc. But, when I attempt to leave Lave station, I get the docking rings and then nothing.

From stderr.txt:

-==EDIT 17 July 2006==-
Forgot to mention that the PC was installed with a fresh boxed retail copy of WinXP Pro. Some of the Sony software did come back on. Specifically, the sound, video, hotkey, and WinBIOS support drivers were readded. Again, I'll post a screencap of my processes running once I get back in front of that laptop.

-==EDIT 18 July 2006==-
Here is my process list. 2 pages long so 2 pics.

Are there any thoughts on what I can do to solve this?

Odd, never had that. Fullscreen or window?
Can you post a screnshot of your task manager? I know Sony`s have some funky background programs.

To be continued...

No, but I have the same problem except I don't even get the last line error.
I also have a sony laptop, an older Vaio, with the radeon mobile onboard. Windows reports the error with atioglxx.dll so I think it's a video driver issue. Problem is that I have the latest drivers which are almost three years old.

I've found out it's a very common OpenGL issue with ATI cards. I've tried a number of versions of the atioglxx.dll with no success. I'd download older versions of Oolite to see if they work, it may just be some of the new visual effects added. ATI is no longer on my favorites list.
