Hull damage

I have taken a lot of hull damage, but I am unable to find any way to repair it.

Can anyone give me hint what I am missing?

When docked, check the F3 screen and page down to near the end of the list. You should have the option to buy a [EliteWiki] Maintenance overhaul.

For a non Vanilla alternative use the IRON HIDE ARMOR OXZ. Cheaper repairs to just your Hull as opposed to a Maintenance Overhaul repair of everything on your Ship. Strengthens your Hull as an additional benefit.

In the menue F3 there is no maintenance overhaul.
Is there a special system i have to reach?
Ich tried up to tech 14 searching it.

To repair hull damage, there is an item called "Emergency Hull Repairs" that will be in the list of items on the F3 Equip Ship screen. If you have the "Loadout By Category" mod installed, you will find it under the "Armour" subheading, otherwise it will be somewhere near the top of the list. It should be coloured orange.

"Hull damage" can refer to several different things.

If you are referring to damage to your hull due to witchspace jumping and planetary landings then Mr Flibble's & phkb's advice is the way to go.

If you are referring to damage from being potshotted by lasers, then it could well be a different story depending on which OXPs you have loaded.

I got hit by Lasers. My hull bar in the HUD shows 50% left.
As far as i understand it, my ship will exploded if this reaches 0% and before will have malfunctions.

So I want to repair it.

The only way I found up to now was selling my Cobra Mk III and buying a smaller ship.


Ok, if there is no way to repair a ship, then let me change the question.

Where in the save file do i find the hull value?

You have Smivs' Battle Damage OXP loaded, and so should be being offered both the cheap 75₢ "Emergency Hull Repairs" on docking - and the F3 screen's "Maintenance Overhaul".

One solution might be adding in Phkb's Maintenance Tune Up OXP which should add in a permanent "Maintenance Overhaul" option on your F3 screen - the default is for it only to appear when needed (ie Hull value (ship_trade_in_factor) is 90% or below).

Or, as regards adjusting your save file, I suspect that you want the <key>ship_trade_in_factor</key> and the following value such as <integer>88</integer>

The 1,000₢ Maintenance tune-up is the standard (until you start kitting out your ship, and then the price starts going up).

You might have bought the Emergency Hull repairs when you docked immediately after your fight. Once bought the first time, you would not be offered the repairs again. But with your not having being offered the standard Maintenance tune-up earlier, I would suspect an inclemency in your concoction of OXPs!

I still cannot repair my ship.
After buying large cargo bay, i started loose 70 max speed everytime i leave a station.

So max spped first did reduce to 280. NOw i thought ok makes sense, more cargo less speed. But when i dropped to 210 I thought, ok, no more fun.
Especially as you cannot remove the "large cargo bay" after installing it.


Removing all oxp doesn't change the problem.

I really want to play it, but atm its to buggy.

I tried to identify all broken oxp's, but I assume broken oxp's damage save files permanently.

changing your save file's <key>ship_trade_in_factor</key> following value to <integer>100</integer> really does not fix it?
