In appreciation

I know I haven't been around much lately (largely due to multiple personal issues) and these boards aren't as busy as they once were but...

I suddenly felt a need to express my gratitude for the game and furthermore that this appreciation has grown and continues to grow as my ability to tinker with the game (be that via oxp or 'hitting the source') slowly increases.

My alterations may not be to everyone's taste of course but then they don't have to be as choice is so much a part of this simple yet wonderful game.

That I can make a 'what if' into reality without being a skilled coder is a simple joy and that has been facilitated enormously by the help of those on these boards.

Ideas, advice, criticism (occasionally very blunt  ) debate all help to focus the mind and the work of oxp and game developers keeps providing examples and inspiration.

So I know it's pretty quiet round here lately but whether to many or just to a few, Oolite is no less awesome than it ever was. In fact it keeps getting better.

To the devs especially, thanks for keeping the torch lit. I very much look forward to returning to it in the not too distant.

Now, about that thing I wanted help with  ...

Fully agree with your words - and "thank you", too, for your help over the past couple of years...

Seconded wholeheartedly here! - I've found the board much quieter after my nearly two years' absence. But, OTOH, I wouldn't even be here or managed what I have without all the help from members too numerous to name. Thank you and viva Oolite!

Not a lot of activity because fewer questions are being asked.

Well, I have fewer questions now because all of my most pressing scripting and JS queries were kindly answered to my satisfaction long ago. It wouldn't be untrue to say that I learned Javascript here. The willingness of all concerned to help impressed and encouraged me from day one. :)

Fewer questions are being asked because there's not a lot of activity!

Of course what we really need for more activity is more arguments :P

As long as it's the Monty Python's kind of argument:

...I don't have any problem with that.

Steer clear of 'abuse' and we'll be fine :P

Arguments? Shouldn't there be a comma after "of course"?

By which, of course, you mean "Of course".
