Hi guys,
I'm fan of Elite games, and it's a shame that no one has Czech localization, I'm a freelance translator, I've worked on some big projects like Mass Effect:Andromeda, Chernobylite, Uboat etc., I'm translating Star Wars: High republic books, So... If you would like to localize your project, let me know

You are aware that Oolite is build on volunteers ? No money could be made here.

Well...did you see any mention of money anywhere?
I'm fully aware of that, and I'm offering a service.

Welcome to the merry throng!
Please localize to your heart's content! We'd be grateful for whatever you can manage!
You have probably seen most of this, but
1) there is a thread here:
Popularising Oolite in Different Languages talking about translations of the literature (the introduction of the oolite.org website & Mr Gimlet)
2) New
Wiki page on Language issues with all the links I could find!
It would be super to add Czech to the mix that we currently have up! Our Senior Developer, another_commander_ produced an Italian localization a decade or so ago, and you can look at others efforts from the Wiki page links.
The localizations we have were all produced for Oolite version 1.77, which was the last of the old-style Oolites (back before Cim took over and "updated" the game in 2014) so none of them work properly any more. There are also discussions of some of the translation issues in the older threads linked on the wiki page.
Please let me know if I can help in any way (non-programming monoglot Brit!)...
Oh ... if you find anything which I've written specifically to help those with language issues where the English is too laden with polysyllabic nomenclature with an ensuing inhibition of the faculty of comprehension, let me know and I'll tone it down a tad... !

Agreed with Cody, at the beginning my approaches are usually kind of tactless, usually it's getting better after that. Btw I am pretty sure that Cholmondely will be happy with you joining the team.

I've found older localizations to German And French languages, but I'll need newest text package and font update for Czech alphabet. But I think this won't be a problem

Could you exultantly...ecstatically... elatedly... euphorically... tell me, who can send me original texts? Another_commander?

Either a_c_ - or if he is unavailable, Phkb (in Australia - so late tonight, probably)
Others will have an idea, though. With the exception of your humble servant, most of the
others around here are possessed of
crepuscular capabilities in the wondrous world of semicolons, ampersands and parantheses.

But having said that, if I had your linguistic capabilities, I'd start off with one of the older language packs (since the newer versions of Oolite added to the old, so any translations there will not be wasted).

Mhm, I'm not a programmer, but if there is some tool, I can pick the texts by myself, but I like to cooperate with developers etc. Mhm, Australia you said... Mhm, there is night by this moment. Will wait

Actually, thinking about it, Redspear, Tsoj & Milo have also been nosing around the core game programming.
