OXZ Updates break installation

So I finally got around to updating the OXZs via the manager and the process broke my installation. I had to wind up reinstalling Oolite after because 25% of the keys didn't respond, including "i" and "a" - arguably two of the most important keys in the game. In addition the HUD went all funny and incomplete. Reinstalling the game seems to have repaired things and no more crashes or weird behavior like keypresses not responding.

I didn't unfortunately keep any logs (you know how it is troubleshooting, restarting until things work), but hopefully there enough to go on here. This is Oolite 1.9 running on linux.

Oh yeah, i guess the one thing that still doesn't seem right is the start screen - no more ship previews. However if that's the only issue after all the updates, i'm not losing sleep.


EDIT: And one other issue (though not related to the OXZ update) is that some keys (particularly the yaw and "i" injectors) suddenly stop working and i have to release the key and depress it again. Quite annoying when it comes to injectors. I've noticed this behavior before the update, and I even tried a different keyboard, just to be sure. It should be noted that no other program/game does this, so I'm fairly certain it is an Oolite issue.

you have indeed something conflicting... and as I experienced myself many failures and freezes while adding stuff, I would recommend to be careful with ships and models.

Cool - thanks for sharing that - there are a quite a few overlaps - good taste

Since everything is working at the moment now that i've reinstalled, i probably won't play with it unless a problem comes up (if it ain't broke don't fix it). What i might do is update one pack at a time and see what causes the problem - but that'll be a bit tedious so i'll need some motivation (i do have the original OXZs still). I just thought I'd mention the issue in hopes that something might pop for someone reading and go "ah, I see what is wrong here".
