Mysterious metal monolith found in remote part of Utah by state officials counting sheep.
Wonderful!
First time around, it was for the hominids. Now they've come for the sheep!

The placement of that in line with that channel between the rocks looks premeditated. I'm wondering if it does something like making flash floods spread out or something. Or as the article says it may be someone's idea of art.

A mysterious metal monolith discovered last week in the desert in the US state of Utah has disappeared, officials say.
Utah's Bureau of Land Management said it had seen credible reports the object had been removed "by an unknown party".

I wonder if anyone checked the top to see if there's anything up there like a maker's logo or a timer slowly counting down. Is it hollow or solid metal? And what metal?
Much later - turns out to be hollow and made of riveted stainless steel, which makes it somewhat less likely to be an alien artifact...

Officials flying about counting sheep saw something deep and now it is gone. Now some report in its place was found a heap left by the sheep.

Another metal monolith, near Atascadero in California,
has been torn down:
In a video, which was livestreamed and posted online, the group of young men drive from southern California to tear down the structure. Under cover of darkness, they hike up to the structure and tear it down while chanting “Christ is king!”. They then erect a homemade wooden cross in its place and drag the remains of the monolith down the mountain to their car.
During the video, the men also make offensive comments and drink substantial quantities of energy drinks, while also referencing Donald Trump and the QAnon conspiracy theory and their mission is to demonstrate “how much we love Jesus Christ”.

Can they make one that is 1 x 4 x 9 in a nice flat black color that is also full of stars?
